Dear Kids Helping Kids Community,

We are looking forward to next year when we can sell lemonade in person again, but we aren’t going to let the pandemic stop us from helping local kids.  This year, we are hosting a VIRTUAL lemonaide event in May and June to support kids in our community, who need help now more than ever.

You may know that KHK was founded 19 years ago in 2002 in the days following the tragedy of September 11th.  At that time, many children in the United States set up lemonade stands to raise money for relief foundations.  In Alexandria, these lemonade stands served as an inspiration for KHK.  Since then, we have raised over $220,000 for nonprofits that help local kids and we have helped kids learn how they can help their own communities.  In that spirit, we would love it if you joined us from home and helped Alexandria kids during the current crisis.

Kids Helping Kids Junior Board

Kids Helping Kids is a non-profit organization started by Alexandria kids in 2002 that sponsors an annual city-wide event called Lemonaide Day. On that day in May, kids throughout Alexandria set up lemonade stands and sell as much lemonade as they can. All of the proceeds from Lemonaide Day are then donated to local nonprofits committed to improving the lives of Alexandria’s children! Since 2002, Kids Helping Kids has raised over $220,000 for a variety of local children’s charities.
